Spontaneous Confusion

Friday May 25th will now and forever mark the day I had the most fun on stage. Spontaneous Confusion Tokyo's only professional English speaking improvisational comedy troupe (10 years strong and counting) invited me to fill in for one of their regulars at the Tokyo Comedy Store and it was an experience I will always remember. I have never felt so well taken care of on stage and improvising with this well oiled machine was truly a dream come true.

Thanks Spon Con.

Week in Review

Watched famed Opera Diva Akiko rip the Pirates of Penzance a new one with her operatic portrayal of Mabel.

Hung out with the local sushi chefs and cultivated the art of fine Japanese dining with new Austrian pal Ingrid.

Discovered that "The King" indeed lives and through some serendipitous twist of Buddhist fate there are about 20 reincarnated "Elvi" in Yoyogi Park.

Tea Town

SHIZUOKA
SHIZUOKA
SHIZUOKA

The idea came to me as if in a dream. I must go to Shizuoka and I must taste the finest green tea in all the world. Shizuoka Prefecture is perhaps best known as the home of Fujisan but there is something that is arguably far more precious housed on the Izu peninsula which is serenely tucked away just southwest of Tokyo. My good friend Tomomi and I went there this past weekend to investigate the restorative powers of Japan's premiere green teas. But first we needed a crash course in tea-ology
The Ocha No Sato Tea Museum is the Smithsonian of all things Ocha (green tea). The day long all inclusive tour was more than we could have expected with lunch included for a knock out price that had these Tokyoites reeling with disbelief at our good fortune. Take the photo tour and marvel at all the things we got to do!

Ageha

What happens at AGEHA...

Stays at AGEHA.

From the free bus ride from Shinjuku...

To the lines of Space Mountain proportions...

No pictures were allowed inside although many a political career was compromised. Sushizume and Poundcake can I get an AMEN! The size and magnitude of the club were matched only by the personalities of the various queens encountered. Stripteases were a plenty as Go-Go boys frolicked with Puck-like attitude all over the pool, the beach, the bars, the stage, my mind...
...move over Ibiza, Cancun, Amsterdam, Bangkok. AGEHA brings all the boys to the yard ... by the bus load!
