Political Wetness

Immortal Technique has always stirred my political loins. His rhymes slice right through the gristle of any false headline like a hot knife through butter, with all the speed and alacrity of a hawk poised for the kill. Oooh, I think I just soiled my panties...damn.
While he ain't the Granddaddy of the genre he is most certainly the Godfather of political Hip Hop. With the recent arrival of these all-star politicians throwing down the gauntlet for the 2008 presidential celebrity boxing match of the century, I found myself longing for a little lovin' Immortal Technique-style.
Enjoy.
And don't forget the lube.

Sick in Tokyo

Musings of a bored mind on a beautiful day.

Funky Mad Hatter

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Tokyo's Premiere Milliner, Sawa Vaughters at the launch party of Guy Perryman's Internet Radio show Air:line last month. Hired to model and promote the radio show at the party, I was made to wear "The Twin Engine" Sawa Special. The hat was an instant conversation centerpiece and was no doubt instrumental in elevating Air:line awareness. Even the most timid of wall flowers would need no introduction if she dared to don a Vaughters original.

Luire magazine just featured her hats this month. Check it out!

さけ flavored Make-Over (Nihon Style)

You ever wonder what it would be like if black folks did white face?

...Yeah, me neither.

BUT

It is fun watching a black girl go geisha!
So check out how my adorable Aunt Kim,

(Yes she's my aunt...don't question just BELIEVE)

went from THIS...

To this beautiful Geisha Goddess!!!

(Well actually she's dressed as a Maiko here which is a student or an apprentice geisha if you will, but it doesn't fit my alliteration so to hell with the distinctions, you get the picture.)

With her every step of the way were Laurent and I making sure she had access to the finest Kimono and the best lighting.

To check out the complete photo essay just click the album below.

Well done Auntie Kim. You look MARVELOUS!!!!!!

Black Snake Moan

Rarely does a movie trailer make my jaw drop anymore so I suppose congratulations are in order for Black Snake Moan. This movie probably won't come to Tokyo until 6 months from now when I'm flying high over the Pacific in a Boeing Jet, playing last year's blockbusters, but I can't resist promoting it anyway. The perverse pleasure I get in watching this skinny little white girl get chained up by Samuel L. Jackson probably means that I shouldn't stop paying my therapist anytime soon but hey there are other things to love about me so forgive me this one transgression. I'll buy the popcorn if you get the Twizzlers!! Any takers?

And yes I know it's Christina Ricci.

Final Curtain Call

The success of Moon Over Buffalo could not have been possible without the enormous support of all the fans of Tokyo International Players, friends, family and general theater lovers who came and supported this comedic labor of love. I would like to thank all those in the front and back of house who tirelessly worked around the clock using their own time and money to insure the success of the run; to the cast I extend my sincerest thanks for your time and professionalism. It was a pleasure to work with most of you and lucky last to Rachel our fearless director I wish to express my gratitude for your grace under fire and amazing courage under extreme adversity. Yours is the kind of composure I aspire to attain.
Well Done to ALL.
Below is a photo essay for all who missed the amazing performances and fantastic memories for all those who didn't.
